宅家看风景：大峡谷星空盛宴

长期关注我们的小伙伴可能知道小猴曾经也有过一个天文学家的梦想，虽然被艰苦的科研工作吓跑了，但没事还会来给大家讲讲哪里去看火箭发射、如何寻找国际空间站、哪座天文台比较好玩。这几天复工潮引起美国新冠病例激增，把小伙伴们蠢蠢欲动的心压了下去，正巧小猴发现了又一个宅家云活动，分享给大家一起来打发时间。

 

记得有一年去大峡谷北缘，白天赶路加上玩沿路的景点，到达北缘门外我们下榻的小木屋时天已经黑透了，一下车便被头顶的“风景”给震撼到了——体会一下星星太多以至于把你熟知的星座给淹没了的情景。

后来才知道，有个组织叫作国际暗夜协会（International Dark Sky），大峡谷也被他们收录进了国际暗夜公园（International Dark Sky Parks）列表。

1990年的时候，亚利桑那大学斯图尔特天文台（Steward Observatory）的技术专家 Dean Ketelsen 和他的新婚妻子 Vicki Ketelsen 在蜜月期间途经大峡谷。使用巨大的海军双筒望远镜观察星空的 Dean ，引来了其他游客们的注意，大家纷纷排队等着去 Dean 的望远镜下一探究竟。其实在此之前，就有一个叫作 San Francisco Sidewalk Astronomers 的组织在美西多个国家公园里举办过年度观星活动，后来因为他们的演讲涉及到了进化论，被人投诉至公园管理部门后而不得不终止。受此启发，Dean 经过公园同意，在次年他们的结婚纪念日重启了目前这个版本的年度观星活动（Grand Canyon Star Party, GCSP），并一直延续到今天。

今年的现场观星活动由于受到疫情影响而不得不被取消，但好消息是组织者们又把活动给搬到了线上。不用跑大峡谷，在家联上网就能补习天文知识。

 

此次线上活动将会持续8天时间，从6月13日到6月20日，美国太平洋时间下午6点准时在大峡谷国家公园的脸书页面上开始。每晚的活动共分两部分，6点开始的一场由特邀嘉宾向大家介绍一个天文相关的主题；而7点以后，则会有天文学家将会把望远镜连上摄像机，在1-1.5小时的时间里给大家展示10-12个天体。每天的演讲主题如下：
